HOMESTEAD celebrates forgotten dreams. Across the United States, homes, farms, and ghost towns slowly moulder into the earth. Each place was once fresh and new. Today, these structures quietly testify to someone’s dream and hard work.
This is an ongoing project. I photograph the buildings as I see them, and sometimes months, or years, will pass before I bring them into the fold of the Homestead project. I have visited several buildings more than once on cross country trips, only to find they have collapsed or been razed to the ground.
I take each image back in time by converting it to black and white. Then I work with multiple textures and blends to create a dream.
